The basic kit allows for vegetable soaking, empty container washing, collecting wash water, and draining it. After draining the wastewater (if needed, decanted), it’s possible to remove accumulated soil at the bottom using a shovel (especially when washing large quantities of root vegetables) and then rinse the basin without needing to overturn it. The basin can be used for washing vegetables while cooling them; they can be placed in bulk in the basin or containers can be dipped in, especially ventilated harvest containers, without having to remove the vegetables. This station also facilitates ergonomic washing of empty containers by directing a water jet forward onto the container to be washed, rather than onto the ground. The water passing through the container is collected by the splash guard panel and directed back into the basin.
The basic kit includes:
- A basin for collecting wash water (made of HDPE food grade plastic). Collection allows for water settling and draining at the end of the washing process.
- A wastewater drainage system (drain, valve, flexible drainage hose).
- A stainless steel wire mesh table for placing containers or vegetables on the basin. Easy to remove to switch to another washing mode.
- A splash guard panel behind the tank, convenient for washing soiled containers.
- A filling float that keeps the tank filled when needed.
